Shaklee Modere

Shaklee is the Home of Modere

In a major development for the wellness industry, Shaklee Corporation officially acquired Modere – includingsubstantially all of Modere’s business — including its products, trademarks, formulations, and manufacturing infrastructure.

What this means is that the much-loved Modere products are now “available through Shaklee,” sold through the Shaklee network, and under Shaklee’s control.

Yes — Modere is now essentially part of Shaklee. Shaklee has acquired nearly all of Modere’s business, including its product line, intellectual property, and inventory. As of late May 2025, many Modere products are being resold through Shaklee’s channels, and key Modere leadership is making the transition into Shaklee’s team.

For people who used to buy Modere, this could be a relief: the formulas remain, and there’s a clear plan for continuity — only time will tell exactly how product branding, pricing, and distribution evolve under Shaklee’s stewardship. The future looks bright.

What This Means for Modere Customers

  • Product Continuity: If you loved Modere’s collagen or weight-management products, you don’t necessarily need to worry about the formulas disappearing — Shaklee says it’s keeping them intact. PR Newswire

  • Where to Buy: Instead of going through Modere’s previous channels, you’ll now be purchasing via Shaklee’s systems (ambassadors or their website). us.shaklee.com

  • Brand Change: Over time, some Modere products may be rebranded (for example, under the BioCell name) or integrated more tightly into Shaklee’s wellness lines. PR Newswire

  • Community Shift: Modere’s social marketers are being offered roles within Shaklee, which may change their compensation, selling structure, or product mix.

Why Shaklee Did This

From Shaklee’s perspective:

  1. Strategic Expansion: This acquisition significantly strengthens Shaklee’s product portfolio, especially in beauty and ingestible collagen — categories where Modere was very strong. PR Newswire+2PR Newswire+2

  2. Proven Technology: By securing the exclusive license for BioCell collagen, Shaklee gains access to a scientifically validated, patented ingredient that has strong market recognition. PR Newswire+1

  3. Community & Sales Force: Shaklee also stated it will be providing a “home” for former Modere marketers (“Social Marketers”), allowing them to continue selling under the Shaklee umbrella. PR Newswire

  4. Global Reach: The deal isn’t just for the U.S.; Shaklee is expanding the reach of Modere products (or their successors) internationally, including in the Pacific region.

What Was Acquired

According to Shaklee’s announcement, the deal includes:

  • Trademarks, patents, and formulas for Modere’s full product range — including flagship lines like Liquid BioCell® Collagen and Trim

  • Manufacturing and testing equipment from Modere’s North American facilities.

  • Existing inventory of Modere’s core products — like BioCell, Trim, Burn, Sculpt, Curb, and more.

  • An exclusive license for Shaklee to sell Liquid BioCell Collagen going forward.

How Products Will Be Sold Going Forward

  • From May 28, 2025, Modere’s key products — Liquid BioCell Collagen, Trim, Sculpt, Burn, and Curb — became available for purchase through Shaklee’s ambassador network and on Shaklee.com

  • While the formulas remain the same, Shaklee indicates that these products will now be marketed under its own structure and branding.

  • For collagen in particular, Shaklee struck a long-term exclusive license with BioCell Technology (the original biotech behind the collagen) to continue using the patented Liquid BioCell® ingredient.

Leadership and Team Integration

As part of the transition, Asma Ishaq, former CEO of Modere, has joined Shaklee to lead a newly formed Collagen Division.  Her appointment underscores that Shaklee isn’t just absorbing Modere products — it’s also bringing over key talent and expertise to continue innovation in the collagen space.
