Modere New Zealand Update: Nov. 2025

After Modere’s global closure in 2025, Shaklee acquired Modere’s product rights in New Zealand (Sept 2025). Shaklee is a good company that is privately owned and sustainable, we are happy they bought Modere. Learn what products are returning, how access will work for Kiwi customers and former Modere marketers, and answers to frequently asked questions.

First, I want to say, no NZ does not have their own website or Modere Warehouse… not yet anyway! That will all take place in the coming months. The team is working hard on it….

However, New Zealanders can buy Modere Products today, yes, right now! How?… Starting in October 2025, people in New Zealand can use the Australia website to buy Modere Products – Click HERE to Shop.

There will be a discounted postage cost. The Modere products will be sent from the Warehouse in NSW Australia to NZ.

A short timeline (what happened, and when)

What Shaklee acquired (and what that actually means)

Shaklee has exclusive right to Modere products. Meaning that only Shaklee has the rights to sell Modere products going forward. You can see the Shaklee website HERE.

Shaklee’s purchase covers the intellectual property and product rights for the Modere lines sold in New Zealand: trademarks, formulations and certain product names (Liquid BioCell®, Trim and others), plus existing inventory/rights necessary to reintroduce the range locally. Importantly, Shaklee states the science-backed formulas — especially Liquid BioCell® — will be maintained and made available through the Shaklee platform.

The takeover preserves product availability, protects formula integrity, and plugs former supply gaps by leveraging Shaklee’s infrastructure and distribution capabilities. For everyday customers this translates to renewed access (with a likely phased rollout), and for former Modere social marketers it provides a potential pathway to re-engage with a familiar product line within a different company structure.

Why Shaklee bought these NZ Modere rights

Shaklee’s acquisition accomplishes several strategic goals:

  • Preserve customer demand: It captures the loyal core of Modere’s user base by making familiar products available again. PR Newswire

  • Broaden Shaklee’s portfolio: Modere’s clean-label personal care and Liquid BioCell® technology strengthen Shaklee’s collagen and anti-aging line-up.

  • Regional foothold: Launching in New Zealand helps Shaklee expand its presence in the Pacific region while providing local customers faster access.

  • When Modere closed its doors in early 2025, many New Zealand customers and social marketers were left searching for answers about subscriptions, product access, and business continuity. Rather than leaving those product lines to disappear, Shaklee — a long-standing name in science-backed nutrition and wellness — stepped in and acquired Modere’s assets and product rights for New Zealand in September 2025. That means many of the formulas Kiwis used and trusted are returning — but now under Shaklee’s established operational umbrella.

Modere New Zealand FAQ (comprehensive)

Many people have been asking us questions regarding the Modere NZ products aquisition by Shaklee, we aim to answer those questions here.

1) Did Modere really close? When did that happen?

Yes. Modere announced an immediate global closure in April 2025, ending sales and back-office access at that time.

2) Who acquired Modere’s product rights in New Zealand?

Shaklee announced on 24 September 2025 that it had acquired select Modere assets and product rights for New Zealand.

3) Will Modere Collagen Liquid BioCell® be available in New Zealand again?

Yes — Shaklee secured the exclusive license to sell Liquid BioCell® collagen going forward and plans to make it available through Shaklee channels.

4) Will the product formulas change?

No, not at all. Shaklee states it intends to preserve the science-backed formulas customers know, particularly for signature products like Liquid BioCell®.

5) Where will I buy Modere products in New Zealand?

You can buy Modere products in NZ by clicking HERE. They will be shipped from Australia at first during the early rollout; a dedicated New Zealand ordering portal and logistics are expected as the local entity stabilises.

6) Are refunds available for unshipped Modere orders placed before the closure?

When Modere shut down, it paused operations and communications regarding pending orders and subscriptions. Any dispute or refund matters that arose at the time of closure were handled under Modere’s closure policies and applicable payment/dispute channels. Shaklee’s acquisition covers product rights going forward; it does not automatically resolve historic Modere disputes.
